How to install Snow Leopard via USB External/USB Flash Drive

Your Flash Drive must be at at least 8GB
External HDD must have at least 8GB of free space

1. Open Disk Utility.
If using a USB stick just format it.
If using an external HDD do the following:-

2. In the left window of disk utility select your drive and click on the "Partition" tab.

3. Under "Volume Scheme," Select "1 Partition".

4. Once selected, hit the "Option" button at the bottom of the map.

5. A window will pop-up, select the GUID option (the first one).

5. Once its done, navigate to the "Restore" tab.

6. With the Snow Leopard DMG present, drag the DMG to the "Source" field, and from the navigation on the left, drag your Flash Drive to the "Destination" field.

7. Click Restore, once its done

8. Now its time to restart your machine.
As your machine boots up hold down the OPTION key, you will now have the option to install from any bootable device, select your newly created snow leopard partition and away you go.[/center]
